April Phillips’ memoir, When I Said Yes, is her message to the world, to the oppressed, for everyone negatively impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic, and for people who are struggling in life and are ready to completely turn their lives around. The purpose of her  memoir is first, to express her deepest gratitude to three inspirational leaders for the impact they had on her life, and secondly, to share her story with the world in hopes that it inspires others to act now, to let them know that if she changed her life for the better, then they can change theirs. When the three inspirational leaders encouraged her to give her life to God, her life’s journey acquired a whole new meaning. This memoir offers specific accounts of events that happened on April’s journey to find herself and define her relationship with God. The storyline is filled with the highs and lows of life’s struggles and the sacrifices that she made to achieve her dream of becoming a nurse practitioner. April explains how overcoming obstacles brought her closer to God,  hanged her professional career, and altered her life for the better. The author chose to publish the memoir for the world to read in hopes of inspiring more people to give their lives to God.
